Mariaan and Werner took a chance on us. Having never met them, having never set foot in South Africa and not speaking a word of their primary language, they trusted us with the most intimate and anticipated weekend of their lives.

During their 10 year relationship, they dedicated their lives to their friends, family and clients. This time it was their turn. Filmmakers, designers, wedding photographers themselves, its no surprise that Mariaan and Werner’s wedding was just bursting with intentional and over the top cool details.

We arrived jet-lagged and ignorant. They taught us the importance of a good braai, how to say “beautiful” and “awesome” in Afrikaans (because we already say that too much in English as it is) and introduced us to a tribe of new friends. Leaving wasn’t easy (in fact we are already coming back in January) but the memories of this once-in-a-lifetime event will forever keep our hearts warm.
